To nest DTF gang sheets automatically, drop transparent 300 DPI files into a gang-sheet builder or a RIP with built-in nesting, set your film width, edge margin (3.5–5 mm) and gap (2–3 mm), enable 90° rotation, and let the packer arrange the copies. ZoroPrint includes automatic rectangular nesting both in the desktop RIP (macOS, Windows, Linux) and in ZoroPrint Studio in the browser (10 free exports a month, plus 10 free RIP print jobs a month). CADlink / Fiery Digital Factory 12 and Flexi DTF Pro also build gang sheets inside the RIP on Windows, whereas AcroRIP 11 and EKPrint Studio do not auto-nest.
Arranging transfers by hand in Photoshop or Illustrator wastes time on every order and leaves paid centimetres of PET film empty. Automatic gang-sheet nesting solves both: you drop the files, type how many copies each design needs, and let a packing algorithm lay out the sheet or roll. You can do that either inside a DTF RIP right before printing, or in a browser gang-sheet builder that exports a 300 DPI PNG or PDF for any RIP.

Rectangular nesting vs true-shape contour nesting
Automatic nesters pack in one of two ways. Rectangular bin packing trims the transparent border around each graphic, sorts the largest pieces first, tests 0° and 90° orientations, and fits each piece into the lowest open slot on the sheet or roll. True-shape (contour) nesting goes further by tucking small items inside concave gaps of curved artwork. Contour packing can shorten a sheet with arches or rings, at the price of winding scissor cuts when separating orders after curing. ZoroPrint uses Skyline bottom-left rectangular packing, not contour interlocking: every transfer keeps straight cut corridors around it.
Step-by-step: nest a gang sheet automatically
- Prepare clean 300 DPI files with transparent backgrounds (PNG, PSD, TIFF, WebP or HEIC) and check them with preflight so stray semi-transparent pixels do not inflate the bounding box.
- Set your film size — standard cut sheets (A4, A3, A3+) or roll widths (30 cm, 33 cm, 60 cm) — and keep a 3.5–5 mm edge margin so the printhead never sprays onto the pinch rollers.
- Set a 2–3 mm gap between pieces for a rotary cutter, or 4–5 mm if you cut by hand with scissors, and turn on Allow rotation (90°).
- Enter the copy count for each graphic, run auto-nest, and use Fill sheet if you want leftover space at the tail topped up with small neck labels or pocket logos.
- Export a print-ready 300 DPI PNG or PDF from ZoroPrint Studio to drop into any RIP, or send the nested sheet straight to a converted Epson from ZoroPrint RIP with automatic white underbase and choke.

Tải miễn phíCâu hỏi thường gặp
How do I nest gang sheets automatically for DTF printing?
Upload transparent 300 DPI graphics into a gang-sheet builder such as ZoroPrint Studio or a RIP with built-in nesting, set your roll or sheet width, keep a 3.5–5 mm edge margin and a 2–3 mm cutting gap, enable 90° rotation, and set copy counts per file. The packer arranges the sheet automatically for export or direct printing.
Can I use ZoroPrint Studio if I print with another DTF RIP?
Yes. Studio runs in the browser and exports standard 300 DPI transparent PNG and PDF gang sheets that open in AcroRIP, Maintop, PrintEXP, CADlink, PrintFab Composer or any other RIP. The Free plan includes 10 Studio exports a month.
Does ZoroPrint do true-shape contour nesting?
No. ZoroPrint trims transparent borders and runs Skyline bottom-left rectangular packing with 0° and 90° rotation. That saves film on mixed-size orders while keeping straight cut lines between transfers.
Is automatic gang-sheet nesting included on the Free plan?
Yes. On the Free plan, ZoroPrint Studio includes 10 gang-sheet exports a month in the browser, and the desktop RIP includes auto-nesting on all 10 free print jobs a month, with no credit card. Solo and Shop remove both limits.
