In short
- Start on Etsy with ready-to-press designs and a custom gang sheet listing
- Move repeat customers to a Shopify store with a gang sheet builder and no marketplace fee
- Batch orders into roll jobs once a day and ship flat in rigid mailers
Three products
- Ready-to-press transfers: your own designs, sold by size. Fast to list, low support, thin margin.
- Custom gang sheets: the customer uploads their files or builds a sheet, pays by length (e.g. 30 × 50 cm, 30 × 100 cm). This is where the money is.
- Wholesale / by the metre: for other shops that own a press but not a printer. Volume pricing, net-30 terms once they are regular.
Platforms
- Etsy: ready-made traffic, ~6.5 % transaction fee + payment fees + listing fees. Good for the first 200 orders and for discovery.
- Shopify: your brand, your customer list, a monthly fee instead of a percentage. Add a gang sheet builder app or link to ZoroPrint Studio and accept the .zoro / PNG the customer exports.
- Your own site with ZoroPrint Storefront (0 % commission): the builder is built in and the sheet lands directly in your RIP queue.
Pricing
Price per length, not per design: 30 × 50 cm ≈ 2× your cost per sheet from the cost guide, with breaks at 100 cm and 200 cm. Charge for rush (same-day) — it is the most profitable line you will have.
Operations
- Cut-off time (e.g. 14:00), then one roll job for everything that came in. The job label on each section tells you whose is whose.
- Preflight everything before printing; send a short “your file has a white background — fix or approve?” message rather than printing a white box.
- Ship flat in a rigid mailer with a parchment sheet; folded transfers crack.
- Include a press-settings card. Half of support tickets are press settings, not print quality.
